Nesting is a natural thing...

Well, I feel like cleaning and organizing and sorting and getting going on a small garden this year. I think that is what they call nesting! I was also in Vancouver for the past month and miss the green and the fairer weather. Never have I felt so proud to be a Canadian and witnessing our country coming together for the Olympics. When it was over it made you think that every day should be like this. Wait until July 1st at the store, we will remain proud and patriotic!!!

Next weekend the Town of Okotoks will be promoting Okotoks at the Acreage Lifestyle Show at the Round-up Centre in Calgary. I will be working a shift from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 20. If you have some time, come down, say hello and check out the show. Here is the link to the info http://www.stampedeagriculture.com/events/405-acreage-lifestyle-show.html. From fencing solutions, yard equipment, and pet supplies to energy options, informative presentations, and entertainment, the Acreage Lifestyle Show has everything you need to know about farm and acreage living all in one place.

On June 12 & 13, 2010, All Through the House will be participating in the Vintage Chicks Spring fling at the Priddis Community Hall. We will have an booth there full with lots of cool treasures to be had. Please check out the link http://thevintagechicks.blogspot.com/.

Made it through...

Hello there. Well I made it through my hysterectomy. Wow, what a procedure! Recovery is said to take 6 - 8 weeks. I would like to recommend to anyone who is thinking about getting this done that they get it done at the Rockyview and with the Allen Centre for Women. Dr. Edwards was fantastic and I felt totally at ease with her and the team of nurses in Unit 61. Amazing how these girls are in ensuring your well being and working so darn hard. My hat's off to all of them. Stay tuned for something sweet from me to you all!! :)

Now back to business. Started the arduous task of inventory today. Yes, we still do it manually. Yes it is tedious. But it also a good time to take small break and really see what the heck you have for stock! Because of tight funds this year we have decided to open up the front part of the store on Feb 1st. This will help all those sweet tooths out there and help out all those romantics who want to buy something special for their Valentine. Gift Certificates are available.

We have been saving some Antiques for our re-open of the back part on Feb 8th. I have included some sneak previews of some of the items.

Olympic Torch coming to Okotoks

So more news already. Wow. The Olympic Torch Relay is coming right down main street in Olde Towne Okotoks on Monday, January 18th. I was going to shut down that day as I'm going in for surgery at the Rockyview. But my sister has come to the rescue and we shall be open that day to welcome the runners and enjoy the company of anyone who happens to drop in. Our half price Christmas Sale continues that day too, just so you know. Then we will be closed for a few weeks so I can recover and then do inventory and then reorganize the place so you will be utterly amazed at the transformation. Look forward to our re-open date of Feb 8th.

Welcome to 2010 and our new blog

Well, Another year has come and gone and a lot has happened with All Through the House. We've moved to a new location. In fact it's right next door to our old place. Make sure the next time you visit Okotoks you come and see us. Our focus this year is to become Okotoks next major attraction & destination. By continuing to provide exceptional customer service, offering a variety of unique antique items, knick knacks & seasonal gifts & greenery and by offering an excellent selection of Olde Fashioned Candy & Ice Cream.

We know we're taking on a lot, however, we see this as an opportunity to diversify our business to remain successful in these tough economic times. Stay tuned for an updated website, more blogs on what the heck is going on and lots of neat and interesting links to check out.
